Let it wait for morning.
A Chrome extension that shows a gentle confirmation before an email goes out on Gmail during the night hours you set.
USE CASES
Finishing and sending is one continuous motion. Interrupting it exactly once is all this does.
Writing something at midnight and sending it unread tends to be a single gesture. During the hours you set, a confirmation appears, which leaves reading it again in the morning as an option.
You may be awake, but the notification goes off on their phone at the same hour. The pause gives you a moment to think about how a midnight message arrives, and to decide whether it waits.
A rebuttal or a chase reads at its harshest right after you write it. Reading it back at the confirmation lets you choose between sending it as is and rewording it. Send anyway is always there.
Features
During your night hours, that one send is paused for you to confirm. It never rewrites your words or sends anything on its own — just one gentle moment of pause before a late-night email goes out.
The confirmation appears only during the night hours you set. During the day it does nothing.
The only inputs are the clock and your settings. It never reads the body of your email.
Network APIs are excluded by construction, and a build-time machine scan verifies that nothing communicates.
The final call is always yours. Choose "Send anyway" and your email goes out as is.
NIGHT HOURS & SETTINGS
You decide what counts as "night." Settings are stored on your device.
Night hours
Set any start and end time. Ranges that cross midnight, like 22:00–06:00, are supported.
Days of the week
Every day, weekdays only, or custom. Late night belongs to the previous evening (Saturday 1:00 counts as Friday night).
Not tonight
A snooze for just this one night. The confirmation stays quiet until the night is over.
ON / OFF
Toggle any time from the toolbar popup, which also shows the current state at a glance.
Display language
Auto-selected by your browser language.
Compatibility
Works on Gmail (mail.google.com), Chrome 116 or later.
HOW IT WORKS
A kind confirmation gate that works only during the night hours you set. During the day nothing happens and your email goes out as usual.
It acts only the instant you try to send an email on Gmail during your night hours.
Daytime sends never show anything.
A confirmation modal appears with an illustration of a sleeping crescent moon. It never rushes or scolds you.
"The person you are writing to may be asleep right now. How about letting this email rest until morning, too?"
Three choices. For safety, "Back to drafts" is selected first.
"Schedule send" guides you to Gmail’s own schedule-send feature.
GET STARTED
Add it, open it from the toolbar, and reach settings in a click.
Just press “Add to Chrome” on the Chrome Web Store.
Open the extensions icon (the puzzle piece) at the top-right of Chrome and pin Safe Night Check so it’s always one click away.
Right-click the icon → “Options,” or open the settings from the popup. Adjust night hours, days, and the snooze.
Try to send an email on Gmail during your night hours and the confirmation modal appears before it goes out.
Open it any time from the extensions icon (the puzzle piece) at the top-right of Chrome.
PRIVACY
Because it exists to offer a moment of pause, it never takes custody of your email itself.
The body of your email never leaves this extension.
The only inputs are the clock and your settings — no server sending, analytics, or telemetry whatsoever.
Where data lives
Only your settings are stored on your device (storage). Your email contents are never read or saved.
External traffic
No server, no analytics, no telemetry. Network APIs are excluded by construction and a build-time machine scan verifies that nothing communicates.
Permissions needed
Just settings storage (storage) and running on Gmail (mail.google.com) — minimal permissions only.
MORE TOOLS
Published tools that also act before you send.
