Legacy Tools is a set of Chrome extensions that make one moment to check — before you send, before you open, before you paste.

Nothing typed and nothing found has a way of reaching a developer’s server. The permissions used, what is stored, network use and known limits are published per product.

Legacy Tools does not decide whether something is dangerous, and it does not prevent every scam or every leak. It puts more of the evidence in front of the person, and the call is theirs.

Which sites are covered, what is shown and what has to be set up differ by product. When you pass one on, go by the current wording on the product’s own page, and by the terms and the disclaimer published there.

The tools published on the Chrome Web Store are consumer Chrome extensions. There is no admin console, no central management, no audit log, no SLA and no organisational support contract. If you are putting them in front of people at work, read the Chrome Web Store listing along with the permissions, the traffic and what each one stores, and leave the decision with whoever administers your systems.

Safe Privacy Mask is the exception: an Enterprise edition with managed policy distribution, org-forced rules and an audit log is distributed privately to organisations. None of the other tools has one.
